Inner Arches & Rear Bumper

Inner Arches & Rear Bumper

September 2011

After removing the lights and the boot lining I completely drenched the inner arches with Dynax S-50.

After

It started to seep out of the seams. This is a good thing!

Image

Next it was onto the area behind the bumper. It doesn’t look too bad but it all needed a good clean and degrease.

Image

Image

I removed all the bungs, clips and fixtures ready to clean it.

Image

All cleaned and masked up ready for the Dynax.

Image

Image

The rear bumper bar cleaned and Dynaxed.

Image

The rear end all Dynaxed up.

With the fixings reattached.

Roof Trim Gutters

Roof Trim Gutters

August 2012

I thought it would be a good idea to remove the roof trim strips. This is what I found…

Image

Image

Doh!!
Image

After a quick clean.

Image

Image

I used Autosol metal polish to remove the gribble on the rubber roof strip.
Then a quick clean with AutoGlym Bumper Care.

Image

I masked off the area and Dynaxed the gutter, then reattached the trim just as the rains came.

Mileage Milestone

Post by Pushki » Wed May 07, 2014 7:34 am

Mileage Milestone

September 2011

I thought this was worth documenting in my profile.

As soon as I parked up at my house after a fairly long journey, the mileage clicked over to 077777 km (dials not converted to mph). I knew it was coming, but for it to happen just as I got home was rather spooky.

Honda Idol 2012

October 2012

I entered my car into the Total Honda Magazine’s Honda Idol 2012 competition. I got through to the final round, but the magazine suddenly went into liquidation.

Spring Clean

Post by Pushki » Wed May 07, 2014 7:48 am

May 2013

I gave the car a Spring clean inside and out.

Every year or two I recommend you remove your mudguards and sill covers to clean behind them. Crap will accumulate over time which will become a moisture trap which in turn feeds the rust monster.

This is what was behind mine after two years. :o

I gave her a good clean and wax ready for Summer.

Front Stabilizer Links

Post by Pushki » Wed May 07, 2014 7:52 am

April 2014

I degreased and painted with Hammerite ‘Direct to Rust’ all the suspension arms within the wheel arches.
I then fitted new stabilizer links to the front anti-roll bar.
The rears I will replace once I’ve bought a new ARB.
