Is that the reverse gear sensor on the gearbox? If so it should have in-line bullet connectors.

it's on top of the gearbox yes, that's all the info i can give atm :?

Yeah it should have in-line bullet connectors but you should be able to unscrew it from the gearbox as well. Although removal is only meant for when you need to replace the sensor itself, not intended for removal of the gearbox from the car.

My 4th gen M2F5, you can see the bullet connectors on the top with the visible yellow wire

it's surprisingly inaccessible with all the other crap around it, but looking at that 5g cutout - im sure i have two wires i could unplug just a few cm back... maybe my only option as the supposed bolt to undo it looks pretty rounded :? only attacking it with a file to square off the corners may do it any good. ill see how i get on 8-) cheers guys
