Re: Ratty's Type S...Supercharged

Forgot to put these up of the Meister gt1 Coilovers side by side with the BC racing.

Image

I put some rocker cover rubber washers on the struts tops to space the neuspeed strut bar up higher to clear the already trimmed supercharger setup.

I'll review the coilover when I put more mileage on them but let's just say high end coilovers make driving fun again. So good.

Onto another job I have been meaning to do.
Sort the bonnet cowl or and wipers and bonnet hinges.
The cowl is seriously faded and has paint overspray on it from when I painted the car. The wipers are corroded. Ultimately I'll replace those with brand new wiper arms but for now I tarted them up. The bonnet hinges were rusted and rust converter stained.
I got a brand new bonnet cowl.

Upon removing the cowl I was treated to this nasty.

Grinded back and rust treated and degreased.

Etch primed.
Image

Outer edges sprayed Matt black and the rest bilt hamber dynax s50 on the first layer.

Bonnet hinges same process and sprayed Matt black.

New cowl on.

Onto the Dickbutt carbon bonnet. The fitment was absolutely shocking. Literally a 2 finger gap.
Image

Her you can see how much I pushed the wings in to close the gap.

I also took the bonnet hinge home from 10mm to 16mm to allow further adjustment.

Much better.
Image

Near the headlights the drivers side fits well but the passenger side is quite raised. Hopefully the aerocatch fittings will push that down.

Im still waiting for Farlows carbon bootlid. Then I'll attach the New rear lip to a new bumper again of Farlow to replace my melted bumper. And I'll respray then all in April at the Chipsaway bodyshop in Mansfield. I'm not a fan of bare carbon on white cars.

Oem bonnet is 19kg.
Carbon creations bonnet 9kg. But a fragile 9kg.

Rats, you know the driver side headlight is a bit raised? Try lowering your bonnet lock mechanism, I think mine is the same so the bonnet centre front bit pivots on it and push one side of the headlight bit up... (hope that makes sense)

The headlights are level. However the bonnet isn't the same shape as the original. It's slightly flexed. Pushing it down solves it.

Doesn't always work. I tried it on mine. A fair few customer vehicles I do didn't work either.
