3g sun visor on a 2g

Post by Rob_Cool1 » Sat Nov 23, 2013 8:25 pm

Hi guys. Just wondering if the sun visor from a 3g will fit a 2g?
It was missing one when i got the car and i currently have the passenger visor on my side which looks silly :L

I've seen one on ebay and they look virtually the same

Cheers
Rob

Think he means flip down sun visor Merc, not a door wind deflector

As Merc says though Rob, best get in contact with a 3rd genner near you to compare them side by side. @CrunchyAdams82 is near you isn't he?

I'm about an hour away from him Nath. So not just down the road, but not too far either I guess.

I assume this is the one on eBay. Looks a bit scabby, but looks like it can be bought for under a tenner. Not too much to lose if it doesn't fit..

May just be worth a punt anyway.

Or we could meet up sometime to check it out.

For ten quid, he may as well take a punt. it'll cost that much in petrol these days just to hook up. Rob, i'll go check H.x W. x D. of mine for you and post back gimme 10 mins.

With the visor in the pivoted down position, Length at top = 410mm Length at bottom = 340mm Height = 150mm Top left corner to centre of pivot aperture 100mm. I haven't got my micrometer to hand, but guess the thickness is approx. 10mm. The reason for the differing lengths is the 3 g visor has a dogleg profile, which I believe is standard for most visors Hope this helps

Glad to be of assistance, hope you've put your mind at rest re: oil viscosities as well. You might like to try Hondaboy as well. I've bought a few 3g parts from him recently, and he's very knowledgeable and may have spare visors as well.

Visors turned up and its exactly the same! :D
Doesn't look as bad as the pics made out, just a small clean and buy some more screws and it'll be in.

Yeah, oil stuffs all sorted, couldn't do it today so that will have to wait till Sunday now :(
I might have to ask him about bits and bobs then :L
Cheers
