I said I'd get up a little profile on the new motor. Well here she is, my 2008 2nd generation Mazda 6 Sport:

Absolutely love it!

Ticked all the boxes for me for a replacing my old company car with me leaving to start a new job soon. I fell in love with the colour - Lilac Silver. Hard to capture the colour in a photo, you have to see it in the flesh to appreciate it.

Here's some specs on it:

- Mazda 6 Sport Hatchback
- Engine: 2.5 4 cylinder Petrol MZR engine (168hp/167lb/ft) - Timing chain so no belts!
- Transmission: 6 Speed FWD
- 0-60: 8.3 seconds
- Top Speed: 137mph
- MPG: 25-45mpg (35 average)

The Sport model is the top spec which adds all the goodies including the following:

- Sport bumper/skirts kit
- 18" Sport alloys
- Twin outlet exhaust system
- Xenon headlights
- Tinted windows
- Auto-fold mirrors
- Keyless Entry System with Push Button Start
- Heated Half Leather Seats
- Bose 8 Speaker Stereo + 6 disc in-dash changer/bluetooth/aux
- 'Mazda 6' illuminated entry system (sill plates):

I had some bodywork issues to sort, I got the garages SMART repairer to sort out some lacquer peel on the front bumper and long scratch on the inside of the arch which had formed some surface rust!
All gone now though. There are a couple of other areas to sort but they're not that noticable so will wait till I have some more money coming in.

I'll take some better pics once I've had a dry day to clean her properly and able to work my new camera. :D

Welcome to the '6 brotherhood! 8-)

Mine is the earlier model from 2004, but still great cars. Steering rack is the same one they use in the MX-5 so nice and sharp handling from a large family car
