I had a weeping rocker cover so I replaced the seal with an OEM one and got some Hondabond while I was at it.

Nice looking internals, no gunge, just oily metal 8-)

My car has been hitting the tops of a few speed bumps recently. I hit another on the other day and it must have been the final straw as the CAT shield fell off :(

There is nothing wrong with the CAT, only that its shield fell off. Plus for the puny HP increase and hassle of swapping I can't be bothered with a decat on a road car.

You're right.. At my MOT, my emissions were high even with the CAT on it's place so I think it's had it. Now I will have a De-cat put on the car but then I would have the same feeling when swapping it for a MOT again..

Don't get me wrong, I am not against decatting. Although one of the things I like about my 5th is that is is relatively stock, hardly needs any fiddling about with, and is fairly quiet and innocuous (all of which are the complete opposite of my 4th gen ;))

My cat shield bcame loose due to rust. I secured it in place with a metal CV boot band (similar in effect to a plastic cable tie).
