Hi Mate, I'm thinking of losing my A\C unit in my dash.. i see on page 15/16 you gave a small write up but i was just wondering if theres anything else... like is it connected to the heating system blowers? etc? also it looks like you broke some white plastic.. is this needed to break things or

I just want to understand what i'm doing before i rip something out i shouldn't

You can't do any damage! I think you may be able to remove the air-con housing from under the dash without having to remove the blower motor housing to the left of it. The white 'plastic' you described is infact moulded polystyrene and this will be coming out as well, it was only there to offer protection to the core and seat it securely in the aircon housing. Once the core is removed you will see an oblong hole in the engine compartment where the pipes used to pass through, I couldnt find any grommets so have made up this:

If you get a batch of these made, there is a few of us that need one, including me.

I'll see how well mine works first and then get back to you guys with some pricing, if there are atleast 5 people interested i'll get some made and at a much better price than making that one off!!

@ StkPrelude: If you get stuck doing your air-con removal give me a bell and i'll try n help.

Update:

Got two of the 4 engine mounts made with one fitted currently. I need to cut some more material away from the rear subframe as I have shifted the whole engine across to the passenger side 10mm. As soon the subframe is back on and the new engine mounts fitted in i'll be drawing up the front and the revised passenger side mount. I think then the mounts will be as close as possible to producted ready mounts!

Cheeky picture of our cars:

Image

The VXR has a 3" full cobra exhaust with high flow cat and one silencer, it is very very loud but sounds absolutely awesome at full chat! Its got a load of subtle carbon wrappad pieces on the interior, a sat nav install and a computer relocate to the roof, its a very nice example! Its been remapped and found out it actually produces around 290bhp.

The cossie is nuts off the line, has a full 3" system also, its running about 16 psi but not sure what power its putting down, the VXR just takes it on a roll so maybe just over 300 to make up for the 4wd system. My mate blew it up a few days ago and we spent most of the weekend taking it apart in the lovely weather! Turns out cylinder 2 has a melted piston and blown ring, left a nice alu deposit on the side wall... doh. His plan is to rebuild it to around 400+ hp with forged internals.
So looks like i'll be planning some power upgrades shortly, my wallet still hasn't reocvered from the last assault!!!

The back end of the Cossie actually looks quite sleak, and quite like a 4 door R32. Nice collection of cars... The Stealthy Crew 8-)
