Copper plugs are filthy cheap and good for tunning on and ruining. Then pop the Iridiums/plats in and behold OEM reliability.

The main reason ive been thinking about changing the HT leads is that on last years MOT it barely passed on emissions and someone told me that new HT leads, plugs etc can help with emissions??

I wasnt going to get performance HT leads, just some normal cheap ones from a high street stockist,

Does that sound advisable or should i leave the original leads as they are, the car has only done 90k by the way if that helps

Thanks

Barely passed emissions
- Oil and filter
- New plugs, new leads
- Fuel filter
- Clean out the EGR
- Clean out the VTEC solenoid (if racecar)
- New filter
- O2/Lamda Sensor

^^^All of the above for emissions. Try air filter first though; cheap to buy, and can often sort out this problem. But getting all those bits refreshed can only be a good thing at any rate. Leads - OEM or better. Never cheapo.

I ended up going for NGK coppers last time round... cost me £4 odd each. Only takes a few minutes to change them and the cost is negligible so new plugs every couple of years is hardly a hardship.

Yeah, I just popped NGK copper plugs in the 3rd gen. Cost me £17.99... From Halfords! I imagine they could be found for half the price on ebay ;-)

Be careful not to overtighten them!
