Thanks Phil.

I have a pdf book of Honda Swaps which covers this conversion a bit. Not a whole guide, but may help.

Drop me a PM with an email address and I'll send you a copy. It's a large file so make sure your email doesn't have an attachment limit. :D

Sure thing, will do buddy. Thanks. Hope the engine bay doesn't require too much modification. Either way, I know it's do-able. Anything can be achieved if you throw enough money at it I suppose!

Did @honda-hardy not mention the guy on PUK who's got a full set of 3rd gen H22a billet engine mounts? I forget his name now, something like silver something, or possibly not :?

Yeah, he has mentioned it; I just can't afford to fork out for those right now. Along with the new calipers he's also pointed out to me.

Both great deals; it's just that I spent about a third of my wages on buying the car this month. Hopefully they'll still be available when I've next got some spare cash.

Thanks for the input though Nathan. That's the kind of thing I need.

And obviously, thanks Sam.. :)

your most welcome, just remember i can help with the labour to fit the 1 caliper ( binding coz it was parked up.) and fitting the new front and rear brembo discs and blue print pads that i supplied you with the sale of the car. so really this month all you really need to find extra is the 45 odd quid for the caliper and some petrol from yours to mine to get them fitted.

anyway, how are you getting on with her?

Yeah, getting on really well actually mate. :) Just getting to know how she drives & goes round corners. Think I'll have it down by the end of the week though. The geometry is quite different to a gen4.

But regarding 'help with the labour'; I really appreciate that, I'm just not sure which side I'd do first if I were to get only one caliper. Cos I think both sides might be a bit clingy now, but the side you played around with is probably a bit better than the other atm?

So yes, I can defo afford one right now, I've just got to make a call on which one. Then, just have the other one changed at the end of the month.

But which one??!

on the drivers side that you think is getting worse.

1, crack off wheel nuts
2, jack up rear of car using the center sub frame close to the rear steering box. (box in park, handbrake off)
3, remove wheel
4, remove the handbrake mechanism shield by undoing the 2 10mm bolts
5, remove the 2 12mm headed bolts that hold the caliper to carrier.
6, prise off caliper from the pads.
7, lift the boot away from the piston and put some lubrication into the piston face.
8, release boot and relocate it in the piston face groove.
9, turn the piston clockwise with Aaron/dbo's wind back tool or a big screwdriver.
10, pump piston back out (get someone else to pump pedal now slowly as you don't want the piston to pop out)
1,1 repeat 9+10 a few times.
12, take pads out of carrier and inspect.
13, refit caliper in reverse order.
14, pump out brake pedal

Right, ok. I might just get this done then, replace all the discs & pads at the same time, & hope those calipers are still available at the end of June. I'll PM matey on eBay to let him know I'll want them in 3 1/2 weeks if he still has them then.
