Well in a nutshell it will be a 5th gear syncro set, Full set of gearbox bearings, Both shaft seals, and labour to strip it down/rebuild it. Plus any other seals/gaskets. I can do gearbox rebuilds at home :D

How bad is it mate?

If it's not too bad Amsoil MTF has been known to remedy the crunch on quite a number of occasions. Even if it's quite bad it can make a significant improvement. I've had a reasonable 5th gear crunch on two LSD boxes now. Amsoil MTF cured both :)

It's the cheapest option and worth giving a go first definitely.

Sounds like my silver lude and MTF fixed that ;-) Worth a punt otherwise your next cheapest option would be to drop in a known good box.

What these guys say :D To be honest, I would only rebuild my own gearboxes as its cost effective for me. The best options for you is the MTF and then the box swap. :) :)
