Powerflow exhaust fitting issues

Post by bill » Wed Jan 21, 2015 1:09 pm

I bought the powerflow exhaust from Lucas and had it in the garage yesterday to be fitted. I assumed as it came off a lude it would be easy enough to bolt it on to mine. However it hangs down very low in the middle section and at the centre where it joins the flexi pipe and the tail pipe both sit too high. Any one have any ideas why it might not fit straight on?

Mine is a UKDM and the exhaust was for a Jdm, I have also fitted a Jdm Decat.

You might need to elongate the stud holes where the cat meets the centre to rotate it slightly for a better fit.

It should fit straight on :(
Can it be pushed up where it hangs down?
All the mounts on etc?

Doesn't look like it can be. Its a really weird fit. Ill go get a couple o pics and upload them maybe be a bit easier to see. Can the Decat be fitted either direction or is it only one way?

It's not a simple case of using the wrong rubber hangers is it?

Na nothing to do with the hangers I don't think, although they will have to be adjusted also bit it's the actual pipe that doesn't sit flush if that makes sense.

Looking at the pics it looks like the bends near the back box are what's causing the problems. I'm guessing maybe when it was fitted to your car Lucas it was bent so it sat flush to ur bumper? But as I have the Euro lip kit it sits too high for mine? Can I just heat and bent the pipe straight so it sits correct?

Hard to tell from the pics, but that hanger in the middle of the last pic, is that hung up? It doesn't look like it is :?

It doesn't reach the hanger properly as the tailpipe hits the bumper before it reaches, it's got a cable tie on just now so to take some of the weight
