Egr delete

Hi just wondering is it worth deleting the egr or blanking it off before we put the h22a into are track car. If so can someone give me quick run down of what you do thanks in advance

I placed a gasket with no holes between the egr and the manifold, this stops the exhaust gasses getting into where you don't want them. Leave it all plugged in still and you'll get no engine codes. I've done the same on my 2 other cars and they all run better.

And your other option is to remove the EGR valve completely along with all its gubbins, cap it with a blanking plate with sealant or a gasket and then either earth the connector (so it doesn't throw a code) or if you're using Hondata or the like, or a standalone you can dismiss it that way so it doesn't throw a code.

You can't earth the connector, as the connector is expecting a variable resistance to allow the ECU to measure how far the valve is actually open, with respect to how much it's told it to open.

If you earth it or leave it open you'll get error codes.

Best way is to buy a blanking plate (cheaper than chips) and leave the valve and connector connected above it.

Been there and done this recently.

The way I did it was to blank of the EGR port, rip all the EGR stuff out, and separate the heavy part of the EGR valve and leave the connector plugged in. The plugged in electrical connector is cable tied out of the way.

I had all the EGR system removed from when I was running a tuned ECU, so I had to blank off the EGR again when using a near stock setup. While it does not increase the power it will stop "dirty" air from going back into the engine.
