Gen 3 jerking when accelerating?

Post by bees » Sun Apr 16, 2017 5:18 pm

Hi guys, my B20a7 89 gen 3 man prelude is jerking under acceleration. It idles fine, but when driving, in the transition from light to medium throttle pressure, it hesitates than peaks and repeats...

Checked the usual stuff and just did distributor timing, no difference.

Any ideas?

Cheers Bees.

This happened in my girlfriends car and once we changed the fuel filter it was completely gone, it was a turbo diesel car so it may be different. However i know its better to try the cheaper things first.

Is this when the engine is hot or cold or both?

Also, can you replicate the issue stood over the engine?

Hi, it does it hot or cold but it wont do it stationary, only when driven (under load). Really obvious, bounced along, almost undrivable. No codes showing and have reset.

Hope that helps...???

Had the strobe light on it. It was out by a couple of degrees but but its made no difference. It runs like a dream on the drive ( stationary).
