Thanks, fellas. I can see the blue connector and I'll give this a go later on today. Again, I'm grateful to all of you for this input.

Alright, I've got to be totally honest. It was a nightmare from start to finish. I finally got round to doing it last Friday night, in the murk of the driveway at night. I roped in Linda to keep an eye on the flashes as I couldn't see the dash properly as the cord is very short and I had to hold the clip in place. I turned into Karl Pilkington, getting very tense and tetchy with her as she was not very sure what constituted a flash and when they actually started. Bottom line, we ended up in a huff with each other and I was still none the wiser. :stupid:
As per usual, my cop-out was to go down to Jason and get it read properly on the hand-held. Here's the result of the reading.

He found one of the hoses that had a fitting along its length needed pushing together and added some cable ties to tighten things up.
I really appreciate all the information guys, I did give it a go but my incompetence won through, again.
Bottom line, he seems to think it's all okay.
Blimey, what a palaver.

I should add that since its little 'brain-fart' (thanks LLL) on the motorway that day, it's never come back on at all.

Glad you got it sorted Simon. Nice easy fix at the end of it all by the sounds of it :)
