H22A2 & H22A5 Sump the same?
As the title really, looking to buy a spare sump to baffle and want to know if they are the same. I assume they are as the only difference I’m aware of on these engines are the open and closed blocks.
Anyone know definitively?

I know the difference
There is a different stud pattern on the 4g & 5g gearboxes. The bolt locations on the sump are different and don't line up with the box in 1 or 2 locations, not a mojor issue tho. I'm running a 4g box with a 5g motor

The alloy sump will be on the A8. The Accord Type-R has the alloy sump too (A7).

Thanks, that clears that one up. An alloy sump would be nice for lightness and less chance of corrosion, but ultimately more expensive to get baffled. So happy if the A5 one is steel.h10ndr wrote:The alloy sump will be on the A8. The Accord Type-R has the alloy sump too (A7).

What?

Are you referring to the small inspection plate part at the bottom of the gearbox (flywheel side)? It's been a while since I removed my sump and this part - does it bolt up to one of the sump bolts? If that's out, surely it wouldn't bolt to the bottom of the block?
Can you explain in more detail please Alex? I think I'm getting the wrong end of the stick.
