BB1/BB4 - radiator interchangeable?

Post by Angus » Tue Jan 01, 2013 4:28 pm

Quick one ...

Any differences between M/T radiator for BB1 and BB4?

i.e. Can i get one quoted for a BB1 and it'll fit my BB4? Don't see why not, but worth asking just in case there is a compatibility problem. :)

Thanks.

It will fit, but just check that the holes for the fans match up as there are a few different ones

Ive been thru all this BB1vs BB4 rad just recent;y. Think the top mounts are 620mm apart on top and 625mm apart on bottom for both. Like Ammo says fan mounting is more important.
Ive got 3 rads here if your needing - 2new jdm BB4 rad and 1 used ukdm BB1 rad.
1996-2000 1993 EG9 Blue Civic 1.6 Vti - Traded in against the BB4
2000-2019 1994 2WS BB4 Milano Red JDM Prelude Si VTEC LSD

2015 on > 1991 4WS BB1 Phantom Pearl Grey JDM Prelude Si VTEC LSD
2021 ON > 1998 2WS BB6 White Pearl JDM Prelude Si VTEC

Wasn't the only difference between fan mounts the difference between UKDM and JDM, not BB1 and BB4?

Thanks, vanzep - didn't notice your post in time and have ordered one off the tinternet which is specified as "2.2 VTEC Import cars only" - so I'm hoping it has the holes in the right places! 620/625 seems to be pretty standard for mounts - it's the core sizes that appear to vary. Looks like 350-68-32 is BB4 spec.

I have a selection of fans and shrouds in the garage vultured off scrap cars - so should get something to fit.

Ah yes I missed the "fit my BB4" bit lol. Wasn't sure if you had a BB1.
