Cambelt change
Cambelt change
How often does the cambelt need changing on the H22?
Is it more frequent if you have a manual tensioner? Also, should I get it checked to see if the belt has loosened at all? It's done 18k since it was last changed.

I thought it was every 60k miles to change the belt, but that does vary depending on the forum
The manual tensioner I believe should be checked not long after installation to take up the initial stretch the belt has. Definitely one for @PerformanceAutoworks to answer to be sure though, don't want to be worrying you for no reason. I had mine retensioned 1000 miles after I think it was.

Maybe i picked it up wrong but i thought it was adviseable to replace every 30k for H23 manual tensioner conversion onto H22 as belt is a bit tighter either that or whatever interval it states for H23

You could be onto something there! Hopefully rich will confirm soon, don't want to pester him tho. He spends enough time helping us lot out.vanzep wrote:Maybe i picked it up wrong but i thought it was adviseable to replace every 30k for H23 manual tensioner conversion onto H22 as belt is a bit tighter either that or whatever interval it states for H23
30k would be good, means I can say to the mrs it needs a cam belt doing and slip some 11:1's in while it's being done which should offset the cost a little
