Post by taz8520 » Wed Jan 16, 2013 8:23 pm

Went to my dads workshop today to fit my exhaust yet again , thought would check to crankshaft pulley, put line on it started engine, turned off then below was the result :o
Where can I get a new crankshaft pulley for my 2.2 lude, the motorfactors my dad uses don't stock one :(
Jozef has offered me a used one but would much prefer a new for piece of mind.

VTECdirect sells at at £150 for a new OEM one. Plus you would need the woodruff key which is like £14ish.

You can get those eBay lightened ones but I'm not sure about them. :?

I've had my pulley fail on my 2 times in the past two cars.

Maybe the price has gone up then. 8-) but better to get a brand new OEM one so worth it in my opinion. :)

was one white line accros both areas of the pulley, now the inner has slipped as the belt rotates, breaking the line.

The ebay lightened ones need efferent belts I think, the problem is its wobbling and the inner rubber is not attached to the outer part :(

Mine's a Euro-R pulley, so only run the alternator I'm afraid.

Looks like he wants new anyway.

EDIT: I didn't actually get a PM from that tag by the way? If you editted it it doesn't work, you have to get it right the first time in case you didn't know :)
