Why is my lude so slow
Just taken a prelude for a mot, it's just had a new engine and its frigging slow. Can really feel it strougling like hell, got vtec once in 2nd but took some doin and its loud, way louder than it was before!
I'm guessing either timing is out or the cat is blocked from to much joint paste??
The engine warning light is on but I haven't read the code yet, and the idle was bouncy so had to retard the dizzy.
What do you lot think I should look at first??

Yup - Code. If the light is on you're in limp mode, so will feel crap to drive.

The thing is the light doesn't come on till after a mile? And it's still pig slow either time.
I know the cat was good because I fitted it but the mechanic who fitted the engine has slapped alot of exhaust paste on the mani joints which may have clogged it up.
It's just finishing mot now, failed on sticky brake! I'll do the code asap.

I get this with my 4th gen as well (knock seonsor CEL). I assume that the ECU is running on a set map as the engine is warming up. Once warmed up the ECU looks to all the sensors and then reports a fault, hence the light coming on then an not straight away.106pete wrote:The thing is the light doesn't come on till after a mile?
How was your emissions during the MOT?
