Phil I will take these.

I was - sad as it is - looking at horns the other day as I use mine a fair bit but it sounds ridiculous.

Can I collect week after next?

Just zero patience for people that don't know what they're doing, e.g. people that don't know where they're going so they hold up traffic by slowing for every road to read the sign, or people that are lane-confused (happens a lot as they're redoing tons of roundabouts around my way), or cyclists that cycle in the middle of the road.

But mostly use it to scare the jobby out of wildlife that is in the road. I slow down and beep at them so perhaps the next time they see/hear a car coming they will expect a loud noise and so move away instead of standing there all gormless/running in front.

And I like pipping it as I drive along sometimes. To music or to my own conversation.

Oh and chavs. I beep at those chavs that give you one of those stares as they slowly cross the road as if to say "hah, you're going to have to slow down because I'm being a gentleman's sausage". Doing the opposite while you beep usually jobbies them up.

I use it a lot and let's be fair, the Prelude horn is jobby.

Nope - stop that. They're perfectly allowed to do this. In fact, if I understand things correctly, they have more right to the road than motorists.

And yes, the Prelude horns are crap by default. I always fitted Rover horns to my ludes.

Again, allowed and actually recommended in the highway code ;)

Put it this way, I'll bet you would wait till it was clear and give a cyclist room when passing, 80% of people don't. They pass you with inches to spare, then the wake they create nearly wipes you out. Sitting out from the kerb, or taking up more room by running side by side, forces a proper overtake and ensures you're given adequate room.

Oh I give plenty of room overtaking, it's horrible when someone overtakes me on my bike with inches clearance so I am considerate like that.

But cycling in the centre is a joke. By all means do it when there isn't a queue of traffic behind you.

Just my view anyway. There are plenty of things illegal and legal that people do and don't do.
