Help me identify the coilovers

Post by eDaniel » Thu Jul 04, 2013 12:03 pm

Hi friends,
I'm going to buy yet another set (phuh) of coilovers but as I normally have bad luck with these purchases I'd like to ask you help me identify them. The seller told me that the rear ones are Tanabe Sustec Pro and the front are probably Tokico. Here are the photos:

Thanks in advance!

I think the second ones are actually Tanabe as well, just a different series, although I'm not sure what's going on with the lock rings :?

EDIT: Or is that just one rusty helper spring? :? Both fronts and backs should have helper springs. The first pic looks to have them.

Thanks for helping Nathan!
I think the helper springs are rusty on the second image. Otherwise I'm not sure what's on the bottom where the helper spring normally sits.

The purple ones are Tanabe, I don't know what the red ones are....so can't confirm if they are also Tanabe.

The red ones are not Tanabe for sure, the seller told me that they are some Japanese brand, probably Tokico but it is hard to compare them using these shitty photos.

Every coilover has its part name etched on the side of the shock, right?

EDIT: Also you can notice that the front springs are a bit like a barrel in shape. I haven't seen such before.

EDIT 2: Hmm, the springs are probably "Ground Control" by Eibach. These seem to be identical:

Not much more help than what's been said, but...

If you are buying these, I also note the guy has some polybushing done, if he's breaking I'd ask him for a price.

I will ask him, but I have a bad feeling about these. I ordered them today and they will be here tomorrow so I will take some good photos and post them before noon. Keeping my fingers crossed :)
