Possibly, I'm not sure if the hydro film will effect the reactive paint. I'd have to do so testing.

You can get heat reactive paint, so I'm sure it's possible if the men in multi-coloured coats could think of it.

I looked at doing my valve cover in heat reactive paint ages ago, but all that was available at the time were water based paints for kiddies (there's loads on ebay) or industrial paint which would do the job as it's designed to show you when something is beyond a certain temp (Some were at 30 degrees, some were at 80 or something), but there was always a minimum order and we were talking about £###s worth :(
