Does anybody have any experience in painting body panels (originally smooth paint) to then have a finish similar to that of traditional plastic grey bumpers like this?...
(OEM 4th gen side skirts and front lip are a similar finish also.)
If so, what have you used? The colour is actually more important that the textured finish mind. Doesn't have to be exact, but as near as damn it would be nice I don't want it glossy.
I've found these as a possible example...

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Aerosol-Bumpe ... 2a1bedfdab

Second one's fairly expensive, but I also don't want this to just flake off again (obviously). I'll be doing my sills.
Also, would you say my bumper is "grey" or dark grey"?
Congratulations to vtecmec for winning May/June's Lude Of The Month, with his DIY Turbo BB1 build.

Right.
We use all of the SEM range of colours. They do Ford -Charcoal, Honda Black etc etc and medium greys etc etc.
What you want to so is use something called scuff&clean by SEM and scruff it all (key it) and then fully degrease the bumper so its clean, we use plastic prep, them we use a "spray can adhesion aid". Spray it on like normal paint 1 coat.
Go one with the colour there is alot of choice. I can post you some spray out cards iv made but i would need them back.
I bake the paint off but sunlight would suffice. Leave the paint to harden. Job done.
SEM also do texture sprays with various thicknesses. Use these as normal and leave be or then go on with the colour.
All stuff i use are chipsaway branded but its all SEM Heres what i can get, VAT isnt included but delivery is free. Type those code on the net and it will show you the product eg Sem 39863

That's fantastic Ratty cheers!
I'd definitely be interested to see the cards, but rather than that, if it's easier, in your experience, what would I need to create that bumper effect from the bumper in my pic (I'm sure it's the same as any other Honda of that era that I'm assuming you're familiar with?). It's to paint the sills that are currently colour coded in Monterey Green and metal.
The bumper is definitely a shade of grey and not black, so would it simply be TF39213 Honda Grey Aerosol that I need along with all the prepping materials?
