Ecu/remap question

Post by Danni22 » Sun Nov 04, 2012 12:19 pm

Right Iv currently got a 5th gen auto that Iv converted to a manual and put into a vw polo,

I'm getting a p28 ecu and having it socketed with a obd conversion

my question is when I get the base map/chip and I go to get it tuned is it a case of them pluging it into a OBD port? If so dose anyone have a picture of one so I can find it and put it in a proper place
Thanks

not sure how they would do it with a chipped p28, Whether they would plug a link into the chip and run through it and then burn you a chip or just rewrite the chip in situ.
I am sure someone will be along soon to explain 8-)

knock sensor doesn't do nowt when in vtec anyhow.

Your best bet is a hondata s300, that's what I run an a lot of tuners recommend. You can get a boomslang conversion harness (cheapest option with decent quality again what I use). CPL racing will do a socketing service for the hondata s300 for £70 which is also tested afterwards and will also sell the s300 at then standard market price circa £370.

They will also to the auto manual convo on the ECU. As for tuning the chip, you need a usb cable and laptop. Happy days ;)

if your not using hondata etc. and using one of the free programs available the chip is taken out of the ecu new map loaded onto it with a eprom burner then chip put back in.

if going hondata etc then a cable will come supplied to pkug into the ecu
