@Donald Thats what i think im going to do.. just going to gather a list of parts and put it all together at once and get it mapped etc. I just thought id ask peoples views on a B series in a H series car.

I do like the H series engine, not saying i dont. Its just this Engine may be coming up sometime in the future and i wanted some views.

Thanks for all the replys from all ;)

Surely that would be better suited and probably quicker.

Not sure if it got snapped up though seeing how much of a bargain it seemingly was.

Meh im just awake! :P

I would buy alex's engine, but seeings ive got an engine that sits on 78k from factory.. id rather build one my self and say "i done that" instead of it being known as "thats alex's old engine in that lude" (no offense to Alex, as it is a cracking engine and worth every penny)

This way you can really think about what you're doing and not rush into anything and you're bound to come across bargains (such as the Skunk2 stuff that is/was up for pennies). Since you'll be saving money you will have cash waiting for engine mods and will more than likely be able to snap up the bargains fairly quick before any others have a chance to get in deposits etc. ;)

That's how I'd do it anyway. I think @mercutio is a sneaky muffin and has a decent stockpile of engine parts ready to all go together
Wise words... I'm surprised! :?

If your not confident building the engine yourself finding a good garage is key when your building it and on a well built engine its all about the final map are you an a5 yeh? If so pistons cams retainers springs good echaust mani and exhaust plus a few other breather bits plus a good map will be better than any built b18 in a lude

Usually only due to price though c4's are way cheaper so they use them

Ask ste (Bristol_BB4) about the benefits of buying an a7 motor which hasn't been rebuilt vs buying my motor. On the topic, this 'bargin' will be sold next week for a figure not far from what I was asking. Obviously what I was asking and offering wasn't totally unreasonable.

Anyway it's a moot point now

PAW rebuilt 01 ATR 238bhp & 164lb/ft sold
