To clarify - that's In Car Entertainment - not frozen water

Aircon - smoke? (panic!!)

Post by Pushki » Thu Jul 25, 2013 11:08 pm

My aircon has been on constantly for the last few weeks. :P
This morning on the way to work I suddenly started getting smokey stuff pouring out the vents. :o
I turned the aircon off and the smoke stopped.

Is this anything to be worried about?
I don't think it was fire smoke. It was more like dry ice smoke.

Is this an indication that my aircon needs re-gassing?
I've never had it re-filled in the five years I've had it and it's the only car I've owned that has had aircon.

Was it blowing ice cold?

If so I'd say there's nothing to worry about. Lots of moisture in the air at the moment, the air con is cooling the air creating condensation as the evaporator can only remove so much moisture from the air.
