TENSIONER ADVISE PLEASE GUYS.

Post by Thebusofwoe » Sun Mar 02, 2014 11:24 pm

Guys, Need some advise please.

Now who uses what cambelt tensioner?

I really want to put a Kiezenspeed type tensioner but I cant seem to find one in the UK for sale. (unless anyone knows of one)
I need to bin the one I have because I am pretty sure that it's fubar. Soooo . . . . Would the auto tensioner (new) be up to the task of track days? Or am I better going with the manual one. I don't really like the whole effort of fitting the 2.3 (I think :?) kit,but I may have to.

I need to order what ever asap so I can get to a point of putting the new fly and clutch on then back in the car.

Cheers chaps :D

Effort?... Do you mean that you're supposed to check it after so many thousand miles?

Boom!

I've not fitted one personally, but it won't make the job much more complicated than fitting a Kaizenspeed jobby.

Like I said though, you're supposed to check it after so many thousand miles as it obviously doesn't self adjust to take up the slack that would have occurred.

Actually just checked and H-Tune sell the Kaisenspeed balance shaft eliminator, so they'll be able to get the tensioner as well. Give them a shout to.

I ran the h23 conversion. Haven't ran it past it's adjustment stage though.

I've got a engine with the h23 set up n found it a little jobby tbh. I'd be far happier running the ks version or vtecdirect,
I found a old listing on eBay http://m.ebay.ie/itm?itemId=390774056111

Same kind of price as ks but which is better?

Just having a look at an OEM beside a KS one...

Image

It possibly wouldn't take much at all to drill and tap an old OEM one and make a "KS" style one

... Just depends on the bore of the OEM ones.
