Ive had a few idle issue of late
changed the iacv and took the fitv out and cleaned it and reset it - i found a guide of how to do the fitv on PUK (which Merlin has posted up in the wiki section) manual says it cant be adjusted but it can be done fairly easily. Resetting the fitv got rid of the 2k high idle - lowering to around the 1500rpm mark on start up from cold. Car ran well for a week then bouncing idle came back which was traced to a pin hole in one of the coolant lines from thermostat to iacv - car ran good for a week and then boucing idle came back yesterday- which was traced to a leak in one of the main coolant lines 0 the one that runs from the block just underneath the distributor.
here is a link to the fitv fix in the wiki

hope this helps

My warm idle's been crap again lately as well, just realised I had that guide saved from years ago but have not stripped the FITV yet so will have to give that a shot.
Mostly sorted my warm idle problems when it was really bad several years ago by removing the radio fuse to reset the ECU and by adjusting the idle screw, which I read later is not actually meant to be done, hence the reason it is covered in epoxy at the factory. Oh well.
Thanks for the tips guys, very helpful as always. Be good to get this fully sorted once and for all (well I can at least hope!)

Hi guys, thanks for all your suggestions..but turns out it was me gat caused the problem!
I tucked the throttle cable behind something yesterday & forgot to release it back once I'd finished.
Penis.
Nevermind, easy fix.
And all's well that ends well..
