I don't blame you for not having read your way through my threadFerdie wrote:But why you have so a big hole in your firewall i can't read why you use for it?

I'm trying!!!Ferdie wrote:Keep up

Done a bit more on the headlight CAI feed tonight. I decided to go with fibreglass in the end, so no need for the template I spent a good number of hours on

Before I started modelling though, I needed to remove a bit more plastic to help the flow a bit more...

I also cleaned up the edge of the hole I'd cut. It didn't need to be super smooth as it will be covered, but it makes a good edge to work against...

And then the fibre glassing started. I've only dabbled with fibre-glass once before, and that was body repair on my mates plastic pig, but that was enough for me to know I wasn't going to enjoy it... Especially starting off, as I hadn't exactly got a mould to work with

And the first layer finished...

Notice I made a mask to prevent me plastering the entire lense with resin

And the mess at the back end...

So that's the first layer done, and although pretty rough looking, I'm happy with it. The plan is to cut all the excess fibre glass right up against the lense face and the back hole edge. Being it's a odd shape and the shape it is, it will remain in position whilst I work on it without having a front and back lip. And now I have a "mould" I can take my time building up the layers and forming the lips properly
