Odds and Sods Quiz. (Superb first prize)

Odds and Sods Quiz

Music, movies and for some strange reason, synonyms, are the theme for this little collection of random trivia that’s been floating round my noggin for a while now.

Good luck and no Googling please!

1: Who were Ron Nasty, Stig O’Hara, Dirk McQuickly and Barry Wom?

2: At which famous New York club did Marti De Bergi first hear Spinal Tap play?

3: “Yee-Ha, Jester’s dead!” A great line from which movie please?

4: 1941, Sneakers, Driving Miss Daisy, Grosse Pointe Blank. What’s the link?

5: Pal, Morton and Mags. We know this trio better as?

6: Murray, Speed, Felix, Vinny, Roy and Oscar are the six main characters from this superb1960’s movie. Name the movie and what did these guys do every Friday when they met?

7: Fred, Michael, Dean, Todd. Who’s missing from this line-up?

8: Which Fabs song ends with the line, “I’d like to say thank you on behalf of the group and ourselves and I hope we passed the audition.” Name the song, the album it’s from and which of the Fabs said it.

(Uninteresting fact: The single of the above song was released on my birthday, 1969. It was given to me as a present and I’ve still got it.)

9: John, Simon, Roger, Andy, Nick. Known collectively as what?

10: The following are synonyms for which word?

preparation, curtain-raiser, lead-in, forerunner, harbinger.

11: What music track was played as background during the infamous ‘ear slicing’ scene in Reservoir Dogs? Song title and the duo that sang it please.

12: “A crowded room, friends with tired eyes; I’m hiding from you and your soul of ice…”
The opening lines to the vocal bridge to which classic seasonal hit?

Right then, that’s your lot. Get on with it. First prize is a night out with Donald.
