With those mods you should be able to hear Vtec even if you can't feel it.

I wasn't aware of the "6500 rev limit if no Vtec thing". I've never had an issue with Vtec on any of my lude, but it may be worth removing and cleaning your Vtec solenoid just in case. No harm in it... Unless you destroy the gasket ;-)

Ok took it for a run about again, I've noticed the difference in sound now when vtec kicked in, think too much road noise before for me to notice lol I think I could do with a clean for the vice solenoid and bits and pieces around the car tho.

6500 is the limit of the lower cam lobe. If for whatever reason you gun it with a cold engine you often find that you are limited to 6.5K as the oil is not yet up to temp.

Or you have a JDM import that does not have VTEC in 1st, you will be limited to 6.5K.

Its fine. Your last engine was not as smooth. This one is better and more likely to last longer The smoother and quieter the xover the better. That means you are not dropping torque at the last stage of the first cams and not creating third stage harmonics in the intake manifold.. Neither of which are good for max powrerzzz.

Jump in a well sorted type S some time and you wont even hear it. You just know you are going faster because the competition is in the rear view.
6th gen Prelude please Mr Honda. RWD 2.4 turbo lude.
