Banter goes here, and doesn't have to be Lude related

There are some mounts available to buy off the shelf, but they are all from USA. And we all know they come with a massive import duty and custom charges.

How much would it cost to get some mounts made up? Here in the UK?

The only way you're going to get some custom mounts fab'd up from scratch, is by having the car and engine positioned exactly where you want it in the bay for them to work with.

You're right Mart - He brought his latest one, a tidy white 3rd gen, to Japfest last year. Custom welded mounts - said it wasn't too difficult.

I've checked my contact list of people from last years show but can't remember which guy it was?

You've probably found them already but ESP mount kits are supposed to be good (3rd gen H22 kit near the bottom of the page):

I also have a pdf of the motor swap book Lude Dude is referring to. Throw me your email address and I'll send you a copy later.

Looked at this a while ago as a side project, would be cool. 8)

DO IT!

Ahh Rob, as you have a copy then, can you see if there's anything about dropping an H22a into an Accord Aerodeck please? ('86-89 CA4/CA5) ;-)

Not that I plan to do it soon or anything, but it is definitely a plan. I only know of one other guy to have done it in the States, but I just want to know if there are any fouling issues, or whether it's a straight forward as it looks.

Yea I know I saw that white 3G with a H22A and looked fab. I'm not considering it at all. :scaredtoss:

I was looking at some 3G so me while the Type-S is off road in the garage. Don't know if the insurance will be cheap or higher. There are a lot of people in the USA running H22A in their 3G preludes. One guy even have a turbo fitted with 780BHP (that's right I said 780) Was just thinking light weight body with a nice lump in the middle (not me the engine)

The 3G is a good handling car, I wonder if the weight of the H22 would spoil it :? TBH the later 150bhp 3G's pull very well.

Agreed it's a good handling car. But it could do with a bit more power. It probably can't keep up with most of the diesels out there. :?
