Re: Vtecmec's 4th Gen
Thanks for the comments.
The new place has a double length garage, with half already converted into a workshop.
Today, I've just done 95% of the welding, the outer arch and sill are now in place, but then the gas bottle ran out.
No pics yet as I've also packed the camera lead .
That's right, i've been working away down there for the last 4 months now, so I'm pretty used to the area.h10ndr wrote:Wow that's quite a big move, Rutland near Leicester?
pm me your current postcode and i'll see how far from my work you are...i might be able to pop over before you move...
Hope the move goes well anyway...(have you got a workshop or at least a double garage where u are moving to? )

Careful, now I know that I may start bugging you for painting services.RattyMcClelland wrote:Oakam is not far from me being in South Leics n all.

N/S quarter welding and rear suspension refitting
Yes, but no matter how much room you have, it's never enough.lewd lude lover wrote:having space to work in is such a boon to a positive project isnt it?
I drew some inspiration when H10ndr came round last weekend, such a clean and well styled 4th gen. No pics as my camera was on the blink.
So, I finished off the welding, etc.

Zinc primed and seam sealed underneath.

And undersealed.

I have ground down the welds, painted, seam sealed and waxoiled the inner arch, but no pics due to the camera.
Ok,so the pressure is now on, its Saturday morning I move house on Wednesday and this is how the garage looks.

My, what a lot to do.
So on with fitting as much of the underneath of the car as time will allow.
On with the fuel tank.

And building the last bits of the rear suspension.

Bolting onto the car.

And the fuel pipe.

Then I hung the exhaust underneath, fitted the rear bumper and lowered the car off the stands on which it has been stood for 18 months.
So that’s just enough to get the car rolling for the transporter, now attack the mess of the garage………………and about 4 hours later…………..

This was a massive weekend, a total of 20 hours in the garage and a few bits still left to do, but now pretty much ready for the move.
Once moved, my wife has asked that I do not work on the car until at least the autumn, which I don’t think is unreasonable. So no more updates for a while.
