How do you mean? You'll need to take the internal harness depending on what you're transplanting it into, it's just not a case of having to pull the entire harness through the bulkhead and therefore you can leave it connected to the engine.

That make sense? :-k

I'd go with relocating the fuel filter and adding some custom braided lines. Or do the popular inline filter like they do in the states.

Oh and the vacuum to the brake booster could be tidied up. If you can be arsed they turn the brake booster 180 degrees and remount the master cylinder. This way the vacuum hose port faces down out of the way.

Not alot more I can think off without smoothing and spraying the bay. Loving it all though bud, it's like looking into a crystal ball for my plans - only I may have some 'added pieces'.

Cheers again for the comments Rob :) ... Though I'm sure I'll slow down at some point. And even if I don't... You'll catch up... Literally ;-)

Anyway, yep the Fuel filter is being relocated, to tidy up all the pipework. Though it will be on display because my new filter is pretty looking ;-)

I was planning on lessening the brake booster vacuum hose as well, but wasn't aware I could invert the brake booster itself! So I shall look into that, cheers :)

Eventually the plan is to get all braided hoses with AN fittings, but for now I'm going to make do with something a little cheaper with push-on fittings until money allows ;-)

And I've thought long and hard about this also, and decided that for one, my lude is in blatant need of a respray, but I decided I wasn't going to get this done until I have a garage to store her in. So two, when the time's right and I do have a garage, rather than getting this shell sprayed up, I'll get hold of another rolling shell and lighten, smooth off and resprayed that bad boy instead ;-) ... That way I have reason to take the whole car apart and make every part perfect! :D

Mmm pretty filter - Snap!

Yeah flip the booster and reroute some better less intrusive hose. Just don't forget to add back in the check valve. It's a one way valve to allow the vacuum from the manifold to the booster and not vice versa.

Hell yes - AN fittings FTW! My plan too, but all the little desirables soon add up with all the other purchases! :D

A spare shell to work on would be ideal - sounds like you'll be putting in a shed load more hours working on that.

Oh and here is the link to the 1000+ page thread on shaving, tucking, etc on Honda-Tech, you may have already come across it:

I'm up to page 230!

1000 pages plus?!!! Not sure I want to start on that  To be honest I've not actually looked at any how-tos really. Just a number of pics over the years to see wants been achieved.

Yep, know about the check valve  I removed it after work today actually and blew through the pipework from both ends to double check

So is it literally a case of inverting it? Doesn't the master cylinder have a key fit? Got a how to on that?... Cos that's something I'd read lol.

I've only got one AN fitting so far and that's for the new fuel rail, but it's AN-6 female connection and the thread in the fuel rail is a really obscure female M16x2.0, so I need to get an AN-6/M16x2.0 male/male adapter made up to suit.

Looks like I have to wait til the 3rd of July until any of my pics become visible again just so you all know

(LB) Frankenstein Radiator Bracket

Post by NafemanNathan » Tue Feb 07, 2012 12:06 pm

Not so much an update, but a show and tell I guess. I think this has to be the best temporary fix/bodge/make-shift bracket to date on this forum! Check out this Mad Max monstrosity!!!! :D ...

But hey! It works ;-) ...

Perfect! Sorry about the naff pics though.

Don't worry, the plan is only to hold the rad in position until I can get a proper bracket made up, so not fitting the radiator isn't going to hold anything else up :) It also tests my dimensioning is correct and now I can dimension off the top bracket to. I just felt it was worth sharing lol

How good is that little contraption! Improvisation is what I like to see bud. :D

Looks very nice - XS Power seem to do some good stuff. Was looking at a 4-1 (1 2/3" primaries to a 3"collector) manifold piece for a manifold to be made in the future for my SC build. They sell them for about £90 and the quality looks spot on. Plus making systems for Ferrari's and such must speak volumes.

I'm starting to catch up! Removed my aircon finally - at the Pod during Saturday of Japshow! Mental, I know. Was tempted to do the PAS while the pump and mount was off, but wasn't sure what pipe I might have from the removal to loop the lines. Got some new rubber fuel line at home which I wish I'd took. It begins! Still way off your awesome minimalist engine bay though. 8)
