Oh yes, how could I forget... No I'd say that the driver's side rear may look a little high there as I hadn't sat the spring in the top mount properly at that point   I even took a picture of it and hadn't noticed  ...

The passenger's side was fine though ;-) ...

Yeah that looks cool.. I found some shocks and springs on ebay for £50 delivered, but they only have a 30mm drop, but I don't think that will be enough for me... I think its gotta be AT LEAST 40mm!

...anyone have anything for sale?

At £140, I guess I can.. I was hoping to spend a little less really though, hence looking at used ones. Surely a spring is a spring, there can't be too much scope for damaging abuse??

I also found these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DNA-MOTORING- ... 4d006d40ab for £80 ..is there a problem using 'unknown' brand springs?

I looked at all the different ones on ebay, but none of the unknown brand ones filled me with confidence. The only ones I would have gone for were the "Ventura" ones as I found a bit of shpeal on the net about Bilsteinusing them on some of their shocks (Don't know what truth there is in that and coincidentally it was the 3geez forum http://www.3geez.com/forum/showthread.php?t=37676 ).

Trouble with untested, generic type spring is the chance they're unbalanced front to back, left to right... Or rather are balanced front to back when they shouldn't be. I very much doubt cheap brands have actually been tested on all the cars they cater for.

...yeah, I hadn't thought about that. I guess Pi or Tanabe it is then..

I also noticed, during my search, people are listing Civic springs as compatible with Prelude's - any idea? I imagine the spring rate won't be as high as the Civic is lighter and therefore the Prelude won't handle right - does this sound correct?

if you can wait - then id suggest you hold out for a set of used konis and eibach or tein springs. I got mine second hand and so did Indigolemon (he got tein springs with his). i think the konis are epic and comfortable enough for a daily drive. you should be able to get a second hand set for about £75-£125.

Are you sure them springs are knackard? shot blast and powder coating may be a way forward. Ther are real thick and surface rust may not be as bad as it looks.

Got a set of Tokico Potenza dampers fitted with RSR springs that are pretty low, at least 50mm drop. Ride is firm but not harsh as it was a daily drive and it handled really well and turned tightly into bends. No leaks in the dampers and some rust on he springs but they are still good. Will post up some pics if you are interested
