Short Vs Long filter?

i used a long one once, its a real tight fit. took some getting on, but had to as i had put a screwdriver through the old on. i now use short ones, and a leather belt (dont use the screwdriver) to remove the old

yeh yeh :lol: think maybe the short one is for the auto maybe, i got a long one from halford by using there stupid flip chart thingy, it took ages to get it to fit (plenty of lube) i use shorty ones now - less painfull. slips in real easy like :lol: ( im now sounding geordie)

By no means read all the way through this (just the opening paragraph to be honest), but it looks to be a fairly detailed analysis of both length OEM filters...

Please note, these are OEM and not the likes of HAMP or any other after market filter.

Also some interesting info between OEM (dunno if that is just US?) filters and HAMP filters

I think the conclusion of that^^ is yes OEM filters might be as good as HAMP filters but you have to buy the right OEM filter as some are not as good.
