Yo mofo's. A small update! I noticed a crack in my inlet manifold and had to whip it off to get welded. I have also made up a set of new engine mounts so I can utilise the last OEM rubber mount, this should make the car completely vibration free!! Hopefully these are the last revised mounts and no cutting or adjusting is needed. The water pump had to be modified as the new engine mount sits lower and in the space occupied by the oil cooler water pipe, this meant I had to modify the inlet pipe, however I have managed to feed it back into the bottom of the pump housing keeping the pipe out of the way of moving belts etc.

MFactory Helical LSD in the house! Should help me get the power down and hopefully knock some time off my 1/4 mile too :)

MFactory, its their standard helical LSD, its a fit and forget item, whereas there plated type requires servicing every now and again and more regular oil changes, that and its much more expensive! I think their basic item will work well for my needs but also will be able to handle the power should I want more in the future, which knowing me, will be likely to happen!

Cheers, the mounts should be good to go this time without any slightl modifications required. The gearbox one you see there is fully adustable left + right, forward + back to make up for any differences. The P clip is to hold the throttle cable away from the fuel lines so they are not rubbing. Now being able to utilise all the original H22 OEM mounts the car should be buttery smooth inside :)

Nice. I know its more £££, but you not tempted to get a higher final drive installed at the same time?

Good thinking on the gearbox adjustable mount. I thought about your build and mounts the other day, there was a JRSC K20 engine for sale on ebay the other day. Starting bid was £1200, but the ad got pulled after a day so I assume he sold it elsewhere - most likely a Civic forum.

Nice edit ;-) lol

Nice LSD 8)

And nice mounts too! :D

Although do you think larger thicker washers on the adjustable plate would be better? Just an observation if you hadn't already intended it :)

Nice. Is there any reason why you went with the MFactory one rather than what most do and get the one from Quaife? I take it the gearbox that came with the K20 didn't have an LSD in it? UK K20?

It should do. Trust me, you don't want a clutch pack LSD in a road car

Its already 4.7:1, the original car came with 17's and mine has 16's and therefore runs a lower mph per gear than stock, it currently spins 1st & 2nd in the dry and 3rd in the wet, I think a lower FD wouldn't be a good idea! Hopefully with the LSD it should help get the power down!

Damn! Thats a good price, the K20 install is worth it just for the gbox alone, the close ratio's and super slick gearchange make for an absolutely blast! You can reuse alot of original parts so the installation is probably one of the cheapest K20 swaps going!

hehe, I noticed I didn't put the brand up!

No need for larger washers, the load is forcing the stainless plate up against the bracket and so the washer size isn't a concern. The bolts are only to prevent side to side/ fore and aft movement, they aren't load bearing so to speak.

No particular reason, they are spoke about highly in the states and they seem to use them a lot over there, it was also cheaper than others whilst still being good for 500hp or so.

Yea, the UK CTR gboxes don't have an LSD unless you go for a post 2010 new shape CTR and they also have a 5.1 FD which is too high for a boosted car on 16's I think. I think the new shape CTR's come with 17's and 18's? The other option is the Integra DC5 gbox but they usually go for around 1k, therefore it is still cheaper to get a UK CTR box and fit the LSD, plus it helps knowing people in the trade who can do this work for a good price :)

Started stripping everything back to get the engine/box out, only the engine mounts are left to undo.

It seems there is oil getting between the phenolic spacer and the mounting face, do you guys recommend I run a couple of gaskets either side as well.

You can really see the angle on the motor in that last picture, mind the car is jacked up a little at the front!
