Because of your statement.

It might not have, because like most modifications, they rely on others of a similar or superior standard to get the best out of them.

"A pipe is just a pipe"?... Why would you stand by that statement? Firstly heat-soak is a major factor in the performance of an engine as is drawing in hot air. Pipe bends and diameters are also factors. The material and construction of a pipe can govern this. All of this is proven science.

Yes, all ebay special pipes are just pipes... You can have that.

Of course that's absolutely fine, but again... Refer to my second statement of this post.

Thanks for the time taken to write that

From what i can see though, the ebay pipe and aem pipe are the same shape but ill give you material and how its bent as a factor

Personally though i dont think the small gains are worthwhile for the extra hundred or so youd spend on the branded

Depends on the setup.

When i put the OEM type S intake on my supercharger setup the car seem restricted up high and i lost ALL of the supercharger whine. But it was the best intake for a NA setup.

When i had my blox velocity stack on a pipe sucking in air around the battery area it opened up everything.

Now i have moved the velocity stack to behind the bumper and it seems to be more responsive when engine is warm as the supercharger isnt blowing hot air in despite still being hot.
