JJ, that is lovely! What is the going rate for one of those? ..although, I want another white car really.

Sid, thanks for that and I get where you're coming from with 'another wannabe JDM EP3' ..sadly an FD2 is almost double my budget.

Shiny, I'm with you there, Greeny's car is a beauty! I think a DC5, being a coupe, will remind me more of the Prelude..

....just ask that Greenie chap.
I just prefer the looks of the cl1, that front end though. Plus is lighter by a good 70kg.
However I would take a cl7 over any of the other Type R's. Not including the nsx.

I would choose after my Type-S, any of these JDM car in white in that order,

DC5 > 98 Spec DC2 > FD2 > EuroR > Prelude S-Spec > Preface EK9 > 96 Spec DC2 / Ep3

Actually for 7K, you can import a nice Prelude from Japan. Why aren't you doing that now.. :ugeek:

That's a good point Nitin. Why aren't I importing a Prelude? Probably because it'll just rust to death again anyway.. although I should look into it!

Wow, epic thread revival by the way. I'd say you'd probably be happy with most of the cars mentioned, I know I would (apart from the fn2). But saying that I've just bought a cr-z and I'm pretty chuffed with that so maybe I'm just easily pleased.
In this particular case though, I'd say you can't go wrong with the dc5 or Jdm ep3. They are both gonna be newer and more reliable than the prelude and certainly not disappoint performance wise.

Several JDM cars that are newer then the Prelude I know off which are more rustler then my current prelude. Just saying, if you get one you could rust proof it and maintain it. As mechanical reliability goes, even the new cars fail sometimes.

The best reason to buy a dc5, they are going up in value.... And they look so good out of the factory....
The early ones do look like they have HRV headlights... Recaro seats and brembo brakes r sex!

The only choice after a lude unless u wanna splash out a bit more and go down the fd2 route.....yum yum
That car is super sexy, and 4 doors..... Perfect if you have kiddies!

I just can't stretch to an FD2.. as lovely as one would be, I'm pushing it going for a DC5 if I'm honest.. I want trouble free, reliable motoring in something a bit rare that still makes me think of the 'Lude. I'm 99% set on getting one (tomorrow!)

Do you mean that or are you just saying it because you're on a lude forum? If you want something that reminds you of a lude then surely you're only ultimately going to be happy with a lude. There are enough members on here that have gone away and come back that will tell you that.

£5k on the right lude will get you one hell of a lude. Import a low mileage prestine example and then get someone to seal and preserve it.

Oh I mean it. It's why I've owned Prelude's since 2002.. I've often thought about an 'upgrade', as it were, but never found anything suitable. I was tempted by a 5th gen, but I just can't do it. I've learned that I can't realistically run 2 cars and look after them both to a decent standard so I need one car that ticks all my boxes. A Prelude ticks a lot of them, but not all. When I'm in a position to be able to have a project car again (meaning time, money and space) I'd get another 'lude in a heartbeat..
