Very basically:

Ukrainian government decides not to sign association agreement with EU.
Opposition get pissed.
People get pissed.
The President is openly pro-Russian so this makes the people even more mad.
People start occupying Maidan.
Protests slowly change from pro-EU to openly anti-government.
Protesters demand resignation of government and Yanukovych.

Lot of US-Russia chess pieces being moved behind the scenes I imagine. No oil but the US doesn't want Russia to have Ukraine. Russia has to wait til the Olympics are over. Ukrainian president is in Putin's pocket.

It's pretty crazy. The snipers are in, head/neck/chest one shot kills on a lot of the protestors, a lot of others being shot.

It's not just Kiev, but it seems to be the focus.

Wish I hadn't watched that. What is happening to this world?! This is why I don't like to watch the news. I can remain quite content in my own little bubble.
