Going back to Windows 7 from Windows 10... longer than one m

Post by Mattbigwood » Mon Dec 28, 2015 2:57 pm

I plan on reinstalling Windows 7 on my desktop pc after having a nightmare with it following Windows 10 updates - at one point I couldn't start it after the pc applied the update.

I can't use the roll back option as it's more than a month since I installed 10, but I have the Windows 7 system disk.... I don't have many files on the C drive and will back them up first.

Having never done this before, is it a question of putting in the disk and following instructions, or am I being too optimistic :?

You can borrow my Windows 95 disc and just be an epically winning person.
Windows 8 ruined everything and I went back to 7. Windows 10 doesn't look much better.

I could just go back to Windows 3.1I suppose :D

Windows 10 has seriously screwed my PC, but works fine on the much newer laptop which went from 8.1 to 10.

I'm not going to change from Windows 7 either, my son's laptop has made the change to 10 and it's had trouble working properly since

always best to start with a fresh install with disc, the upgrade thing never seems to work

but heard a lot of people coming back to 7, haven't tried 10 myself

shouldn't be a problem you will need the activation key or whatever, just you will have to format and start again

I'm on 10 and love it, went from 8 to 10 on a Lenovo X1 Carbon.

I have had no issues what so ever everything works how it should be and is much faster than Windows 7.

And for the install once the CD is inserted you may need to go into the BIOS and set the CD Drive to be primary boot. Unless you can get into a quick boot menu where you can select which device to boot from.

And then at one point it'll ask which drive to install too, if there is nothing to back up and you wish to do a clean install then delete all the drives you see and start fresh!
