4th gen lowering options...
Hi all,
I'm looking to lower my 4th gen.. I have a set of lowering springs and shocks on my donor car but they are rusted to hell and I'm afraid the springs are gonna snap if I use them.
Obviously I have standard shocks and springs on my car already so I am wondering if anyone has any aftermarket lowering springs for sale that I could fit to my OEM struts ..or indeed any full shock/spring set up's?
Thanks in advance

Oh no, not those ~£40 cheap-ass coilover kits? I tried them in 2002 on my first 'lude.. was so low it looked amazing but the ride was harder than hell and had more bounce than Tigger on Red Bull. I agree, dangerous and unsuitable for road use.
I'm actually looking for a set of used lowering springs or used shock/spring combo's.. after my ridiculously lousy coilover kit I stumped up £400 and fitted Koni yellow's with Ground Control springs which were great, but I don't have £400 spare nowadays

Yeah for sure, but I think they are OEM struts with aftermarket lowering springs ..and both are rusted to death, so I think it'd be just as easy to chuck a set of new/used springs on the struts currently on my car (if that makes sense)...
haha yeah awesome til you try and drive it! ..I even had the chopped-spring Saxo kids laughing at me..

Has anyone used these? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TANABE-DRESS- ... 4cf69d9943
2inch (50mm) drop, 10-15% uprated spring rate, made by Tanabe. All the others I've seen are 30-40mm drop and 30% uprated.. surely the 10-15% uprated ones will make my OEM struts last longer than the others and be a less harsh ride?
