Anyone running 225/45/17's?

Is anyone running 225/45/17's or have before? I see a set of tyres I like but they are much cheaper in this size.

Will I get them under my 4G lude with wheels with an approximate ET-40 offset?

Thanks. Remeber I have next to no suspension travel or body roll. Do you know what body part they were rubbing on?

Yeah, one of my old lude's had 225/45r17's on 7.5J ET38's and they rubbed on hard cornering on the fronts (outer arch) and on the rears when the road dipped away on motorways with two people in the car and a bit of weight in the boot. It was only lowered 35mm on the front as well with no 4WS.

Iwe read that for 4gen ludes max ET number is 35
Mines are et35 and tyres 215/40/17 and its pritty low cause i keep hitting my exaust when carrying 2 pasengers but it never rubed :)

Merlin yeah i am running Uniroyal rainsports 2 size 225 45 r17 on ep3 wheels.

I originally had bridgestone potenza 205 45 r17 but sold them due to the thread being low after the track day i did last year.

I wanted abit more comfort and more of a quiet ride so opted for the uniroyal 225 width size.

Due to the Ep3 sticking out ever so slightly compared to a motegi wheels the 225 tyres rubbed quite abit only when i went over pot holes and road humps and when i turned corners rather quickly. Since then i had to raise my ride hide around 7mm and now it doesnt rub at all.

The ride is so comfortable and the road noise as dramtically been reduced with these tyres but the ive seemed to have lost the handling of the prelude now. I think i would go back to 205 size now as it would be perfect for track days. But i think if i went for the xtra load 225 tyre it may have helped

The 225 width didnt affect my 4ws at all. it only rubbed on the front arch liner and rear arch lip. Now that i have raised the car it doesnt rub at all. Although i still would prefer the look of it being much lower it is a hell of alot more practical to drive and the tyres are very forgiving on the bumps and pot holes.

May look to get hancooks evo 12 in 205 for track day use soon any maybe on another set of wheels

Looking at your setup i would be very confident in saying that 225 width tyres will definately rub, unless you go heighten the car alittle but by doing so you may lose the look you currently have. I would go for a 205 or stick with the 215

i had 225 45 17 r888s on mine, i had major rubbage on 7 inch et35 wheels :lol: an arch tuck on et40 should be fine 8-)

I run 225/45/17s with no apparent problem. Can't remember my offset, but it's somewhere in the middle of the range.

Mind you, I'm not lowered at all or I'd never get up them pesky farm tracks for work. :)

I'm sure there's a sticky over at Prelude Australia that has a load of wheel/tyre size info.
