cheapest option is change the oil pressure switch, over filling will NOT bring your oil light on, change the switch and if it flickers once again you have an oil pressure problem. blocked PICKUP pipe, ohhh PICKUP pipe what a nice word  or faulty oil pump or low oil pressure from an engine fault/intollerance . switch maybe pump probably :(

I've not had my light on when it's dropped below the min line, but it definitely works as when my oil pump failed it came on. Just because the oil is just below the min line doesn't mean the pressure will drop low enough to put the light on. The light won't come on for over fill, it's just a simple low pressure switch.

Also, the oil pump has a pressure relief valve built in which is what got stuck open when my pump failed. This being present, if you over fill the prv will dump the pressure from the excess oil so it wont cause damage. Last thing to add, when I had my build PAW put 5.5l of oil in the 5L sump...

Blue Print would be a safe choice right? As aposed to the £46.01 + VAT Genuine Honda one right? Don't mind forking out for a Blue-Print one if it's not a definate cure.

That's the right part code right?

:nono: cheapest option from your local motor factors will do this test just fine.

Switch for me as it is a low pressure switch rather than oil level. New switch same problem then I would start looking at pump/pick up et al.

mine did flicker a couple of times, then after a while it went poof

my engine light, is that oil light? could have been a shift light on my hondata

I think if you got a problem you would know about it, but worth checking oil pressure and compression/leakdown test
