Don't blame you mate.

How come you're wanting to part with it anyway?

I just keep putting off spending the 1-2K it needs to get the bodywork and interior up to scratch. But the rust on the rear arch is getting so bad. I've got the replacement panel and all, it's just dumping the cash and getting it done. We've had a quote for £700 to weld it in and spray it up so not too bad really.

If I could raise £5-6K from selling everything off, then I'd do it. Sooner or later we're going to need 4 doors, and the mrs really wants an evo x. £6K plus the £2K it would have cost to get the prelude sorted and we're not too far off. In an ideal world I would definitely have both. As we all know there's just something so special about preludes :geek:

Ahhh that old ironic situation of either spending money or loosing it

And you'll soon have the classic case of "I wish I never sold the lude" if you do ;-)

The Skunk2 stage 2 Pro's. The full spec list is on the first page of my track Lude profile. I hope you will find a way of keeping both, as Nathan says you will regret it at some point, especaily when you get tired of the souless Evo ;)

that does sound a shame to take the car apart, ive got rot in the rear arches on mine and around the winscreen gonna get it done this year hopefully, i dont really have a clue about engines tbh but id love to make mine faster, the route of buying a engine already done would be great for me as then id just have to get my mate to swap it in for me and nit have to worry about trying to buy parts i dont have a clue about and end up wasting money on crap i dont need.
So if it come to it put me down for dibs on it ;) but dont let my misses know

I'm glad you mentioned that mate I'd completely forgotten that was one of the major factors in deciding to rebuild the engine and not just get another car - being able to drop it in a 4 door for the future!

I had a good chat with the mrs over dinner about it all. I'm going to seriously look into an ATR now. I can't say I like the shape anywhere near as much as a 4th, but it'll work out thousands cheaper than an evo in the long run. Considering this year we're selling our flat and getting a much bigger mortage on a house, we're going to need a lot of spare cash. Oh and there's this other thing of becoming parents around September time :D
So we've agreed we can settle for an ATR now, and maybe an evo or something even more silly in the future depending on how business is going and also how many miles we each need to do.

I wish there was an easy way to stick the engine in a DC5 or a CL7. But for now I'm looking at this ATR on ebay. I think it's way overpriced. The engine's nackered, the bodywork is a bit nackered, and the interior isn't to great either. So scrap plus a couple of hundered I recon? First I'll see if I can get some space to do the engine swap, then I'll have a word with this guy and keep my eye out for other good ATR shells. It's got to be black, and the newer the better.

Thanks again for all the interest and PM's. If I do ever decide to break and sell I'll be sure to do it properly and give everyone a fair chance.
