Kind of similar to a technique I use when I've done a sketch and intend to photoshop it. Rather than simply scanning it in as I've drawn it, I use a camera and take pictures at different angles to change the perspective of what I've drawn. ie...

Slender...

Chunky...

Stubby...

(The differences are more obvious if you're able to flick between them though

)
