Standard a5 bottom end with no rebuild £150ish
ATR head £300
ATR Inlet and throttlebody £150
M2B4 £250
Flywheel £150
Clutch £150

Thats £1150 before the engines been rebuilt!
Sadly it dosn't work like that though. The power output is appealing, but as it sits, you arent getting the full whack for what some would think is a bargain price.

Listing what each part is worth individually dosn't make something worth that as a whole hence the saying "worth more in parts", which is more likely the case here.

To me, it dosn't seem like an appealing motor. Its not a high spec H22. It sounds like a factory rebuild with some minor bolt ons which is going to need alot more spent on it to get it near the BHP figure's, which would be its biggest selling point.

The closest comparison is an a7 or a h22a out a type-s, both have less power and usually sell for more and havent had a full rebuild with new rings, oil pump etc, fact this is coming with gearbox, new flywheel and clutch makes it a bargain.
Not sure why you keep referring to the cars with less power, when this isn't being sold as a motor with more power. Yes its ran more power, but it dosn't come with the parts to reach the quoted figure's. Not in the "bargain" price anyway.

In reality its just a freshened up H22.

Are you saying that the dyno printout for 228bhp & 174lb/ft provided by PAW (the H22 specialists) is wrong and that I'm posting misleading figures?

The only thing it's missing is a good header & tune. For and extra £400 you can have the chip with a perfect tune for the engine? That would cost you a grand normally.

I'm selling the motor for a fraction the cost of having the work done to your own, what's the problem?

I think you are not understanding his point. He is meaning this engine has been rebuilt by a trusted professional, has the potential to make more power/torque than stock engines typically used for engine upgrades, and will the in the same price range as these other replacement engines. win, win, win, unless I am missing something.

I think what Nik is saying maybe is that it wont run those numbers without spending the extra for the chip etc. :?:
Trouble is, how else would you quantify it? For example, could you even still run it on a normal H22 ecu for comparison purposes :?:
