Quiet 2.5 - 3 inch exhaust system
Quiet 2.5 - 3 inch exhaust system
Is there such a thing?
My 2.25 inch blueflame was nice with the OEM & DC Sports manifold with the blueflame decat/silencer pipe. But it's a bit loud with the Hytech & 2.5 inch 200 cell sports cat.

Nafeman has 2.5" prospeed system up for sale may be worth looking at - the centre silencer looks good - youd have to speak to him about how quiet it is tho

I think you'll need more than a decent backbox to quieten that down TBH. The blueflame backbox is pretty big and mine is still too loud when under load. The rest of the time it's OK.
I think I need a better centre section. The blueflame one is pretty slim. I think it might be a resonator rather than a silencer? Dunno just a guess.
Will have a look at the prospeed cheers

no worries - the centre section on the prospeed looks quality imo should help with the noise.

I like the prospeed centre but the backbox looks looouuuddd. And it wouldn't mate up to the blueflame rear section
Some interesting reading here, looks like I need more silencers. http://shengltd.com/shpub/tvrbooks/faq_noise.html

My Solid Fabs one on the ATR has a twin mid silencer which helps with the noise.
It is still rather noisy though as the back boxes are the smaller race cans, rather than the bigger street cans.
As i understand it, additional mid silencers is probably the best way to go, especially if you want to keep your end cans.
