I would of course love these, but have to admit I'm not a fan of the black. I'd colour code all the lips up. But it's a personal thing.

Merlin's comment of lack of presence is probably accentuated by the black colour.

Still great skirts, yours gets the award for the best condition ones I've ever seen. 8)

Very true, I should have reserved opinion until I see them in the flesh :) And my bias for the Euro skirts

I do think red all round would look better, but if the front lip is staying black then red sides just didn't look right in my eyes. The Euro sides certainly didn't go with either of the lips in my opinion either.

Re: BB4+A bit of Mugen on the side

Post by vanzep » Wed Jun 12, 2013 3:17 pm

well i never really plan too far ahead on bodywork/exterior and i have made a fair few changes of late and to be honest there will probably be more changes at some point - ive got access to a set of the wings west sideskirts as well so that can thrown into the mix

i will only really have to give it some serious thought if and when i go for respray and get the dents in the roof sorted :)
Ive gone for black mainly due to cost - cheap and easy to do myself (upol black gloss - £3.60 per 500ml).
seems like a good idea to start with black and see how i like that over time ;)

Ive just realised that theyre missing two of the flat metal tabs - one from each side in the centre - so theyre not as complete as i thought
they were a joy to fit tho - talk about glove in hand 8-)

cheers rob but ive realised that i missing two of the flat metal tabs (one each side) so theyre not as complete as i thought. i will have to fab a couple up at the weekend :)

and just to horrify you all - i might be putting a mugen emblem of some sort onto them :?

the mugen sides are just for summer use - i would definately swap back to the euros for winter as i wouldnt like the sills exposed to all the salt on the roads ;)

Re: BB4 Twin loop fitted

Post by vanzep » Thu Jun 20, 2013 7:50 pm

I went to Stainless Creations in Falkirk to get my twin loop fitted today.
They said it was a bit tricky to fit it but its done and on the car - also got a new donut gasket fitted to the collector.
I need to shape the back lip a little bit more and then paint it black to match in.
Here are a couple of pics from earlier today:

I bought this twinloop with the idea of making the exhaust a bit quieter - however this hasnt really worked out - i went under an underpass on the way out of Falkirk and the lude sounded like an F1 car (albeit a bit slower  ) - Stainless Creations said to bring it back if it was too loud and they would fit a bigger centre box/silencer.

Im also thinking of heatwrapping the manifold to lower the under bonnet temperature. Ive seen some titanium wrap at a good price.
:)
