Help I need a new steering wheel and boss

Post by Merlin » Wed Aug 14, 2013 12:20 pm

I have got rid of my Nardi Torino steering wheel so I need to get new wheel. Since getting rid of it I have found out that Nardi use an uncommon PCD (6 x 74) whereas most other use 6x70, is that correct?

I would like a 350mm deep dish suede wheel but what boss do I need?

Any suggestions?

I was going ask him if he wanted my old boss but PM'd him instead.

IL I thought you were going to give me some useful info there.

Confused the crap out of me too. Thought your account had been hacked

Yes, 6x70 is the common PCD for aftermarket wheels.

Any recommendation for a decent boss? nothing too expensive preferably. Are there any issues with quick release?

A 2nd hand cheapie? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/momo-boss-kit ... 3a83b234d3

I take it with quick release things you have to have a boss in the first place then the quick release acts as a kind of sandwich plate? :?

There are a lot of copies on ebay, but I wouldn't bet on them lasting too long, especially with how you should be driving with it. Maybe hold out for a second hand Lifeline one. If you don't want to spend big bucks, just stick with a Momo jobbie.

Or that one

That's right yes... Unless you go weld-on.

Would I be better off with a solid cylinder type boss (like I have at the moment) like this one? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Steering-whee ... 2a21e4f376

Sorry I have never bought a wheel or boss before.

I prefer the idea of going for a solid cast aluminium job rather than a folded steel.

However I fancied a more solid setup... Especially being as I'm running no PAS. I assume you are too?...
